About

As science writer and social media manager, Emily works hard to tell the exciting and complex science stories happening at the Anderson Cabot Center of Ocean Life.  She has worked on commercial fishing boats, for federal and nonprofit institutions, and led multiple cross-agency social media efforts. Prior to joining the New England Aquarium, Emily spent four years as science writer and social media coordinator for NOAA Climate.gov and as web editor and technology reporter for Providence Business News prior to that. She has been a contributing writer with BioengineeringToday.org, MassDevice.com, The Royal Gazette newspaper, and 41 N Magazine, among others. She loves discovering what makes research exciting, turning complex science into easy-to-understand stories, and helping scientists share their passions.
