About
Kelsey Howe currently focuses on right whale research at the Anderson Cabot Center, specifically on maintaining the Right Whale Photo-Identification Catalog and conducting boat-based fieldwork in the Bay of Fundy, Gulf of St. Lawrence, and Cape Cod Bay. After graduating from Bowdoin College in 2010, she worked on many different boat- and aerial-based cetacean field projects along the East Coast of the United States (Maine Department of Marine Resources, Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, Georgia Department of Natural Resources) and around the world, including Australia and the Philippines. In 2011, Kelsey joined the New England Aquarium Right Whale Research Team as an intern in the Bay of Fundy for its summer field season. She continued to return every year as a seasonal researcher until she joined the team full-time in October 2016.
